Meet the Speakers:
Johan Bueno
Johan Bueno is a Senior Landscape Architect and Design Studio Lead at Dix.Hite + Partners with more than a decade of experience creating vibrant, sustainable spaces. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Johan has led a wide range of projects including FDOT transportation corridors, multi-family developments, streetscapes, mixed-use communities, and stormwater parks. He currently leads the firm’s Mimosa Studio and serves as President Elect of ASLA Florida.
Helen Cohen
Helen holds both BSLA from Cornell University and an MLA from the University of Michigan. She has worked for the past 19 years with Urban Design Studio in West Palm Beach Florida where she is a Senior Landscape Architect. Her practice spans a wide range of project types from institutional to private sector where she focuses on full-service project management and design for projects seeking zoning entitlements. A member of the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects since 2008, Helen has been an active volunteer leader, serving as the 2017 ASLA Florida Conference Chair, Education Chair, and Member-at-Large for Education and Research. She served as President of ASLA Florida in 2024–2025 and currently serves as the Chapter’s Immediate Past President.
Leigh Gevelinger
Leigh Gevelinger, PLA, LEED AP, is the Founder and Lead Landscape Architect of Coastal Vista Design, bringing 17 years of experience in coastal adaptive landscape architecture, planning, and development. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Leigh has built a career transforming properties and communities through thoughtful, resilient design, with particular expertise in Southwest Florida’s dynamic coastal environments. She is deeply engaged in the profession through mentorship, advocacy, and community service, and is currently serving as President of ASLA Florida while continuing to support emerging professionals and advance the landscape architecture profession statewide.
Leah Heinzelmann
Leah Heinzelmann is a Partner at Cotleur & Hearing in Jupiter, Florida, specializing in master planning, site planning, and graphic design for parks, mixed-use communities, habitat restoration, and redevelopment projects along the Treasure Coast. She earned dual degrees in Landscape Architecture and Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and joined the firm in 2016. Leah became a licensed Landscape Architect in 2021 and was named Partner in 2025. A dedicated leader within ASLA Florida, she has served as Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Section Chair, Chapter President, and currently serves as Trustee. Outside of work, Leah enjoys competing in powerlifting and CrossFit events across Florida and nationally.
