Past, Present and Future: The Stories of Black Landscape Architecture

Friday, February 26th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm via Zoom

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE MEETING!

Join us to celebrate Black History Month and Landscape Architecture. This presentation will discuss the past, present, and future of black people in Landscape Architecture and hopefully provide insight into the experience of being a black person, both historically and presently, in our industry, how to design with communities, and how we can all be allies in the future.

Samira Damiscar will prepare a presentation about the history of black people in Landscape Architecture, Ivy Henderson will describe her experiences with working with historic African American communities through her work with the City of Jacksonville, and Alexandria Viala will describe her experience as a black woman in a leadership position in our industry.

MISSION STATEMENT

Lead in promoting healthy and just communities through the design and stewardship of our natural and built environment.
